Where’s My Bookmark

This is the first of a new weekly segment, inspired by the ‘What’s on my nightstand tag’. Once a week I will be sharing with you all what books my bookmarks are in and how I am feeling about these books at my current point in them.

As it is a new year, I have not started these books yet, but they are both parts of a series, so this week it will be my thoughts going into the books.

Queens of Fennbirn

The Queens of Fennbirn by Kendare Blake
Queens of Fennbirn

I am interested to read this book as the past of the three young queens is a key theme in the first half of this series, and it would be interesting to see what it is that they are actually remembering.

The second story in this prequel novella collection is about a seer queen. The seer people are very absent in the rest of the series, with repeated references to them. I think it will be important to the rest of the series to understand properly why the seers are so important and why they are gone.

The Death Cure

The Death Cure by James Dashner
The Death Cure

I am listening this as an audiobook from my library, and I think that the series is okay. I understand that this series is aimed at people a few years younger than myself, but I still found this series a little annoying.

Despite having read this book a few years ago, I can’t remember what happened. I think it would be interesting to see what happens next in this world, but I do hope that some of the characters grow up a bit.

See you next week.
