Sometimes series end up being DNF’d it is a fact of life. Despite our best intentions, we never quite get round to reading the last book in the series, no matter how long it is on your TBR. The book I am talking about today is one of these. While I am not officially giving up on it yet, I want to acknowledge the fact that it is becoming increasingly unlikely that I get round to it.

Synopsis:
Victory comes at a price.
Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal’s betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart—and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her—Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all… starting with the crown on Maven’s head.
But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal’s powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolishing everything—and everyone—in his path.
War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?
In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard’s stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power… for all will be tested, but not all will survive.
Why I Want To Read It:
I have read all the other books in this series and I really want to find out how it ends (even though I can’t remember the plot of the series). I have found the rest of the series painful to read and kind of want to read it again just to revel in how bad it is.
The other less important reason is that the covers make a gradient from white to blue. In case you haven’t noticed from the colour scheme of my blog, my favourite colour of blue, and the gradient is so aesthetically pleasing. I would love to have the last book just to complete the set.
Why I Probably Won’t:
As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t particularly like the rest of the series, and am reluctant to spend money on buying the last book, especially when there are other books that I could be reading that I think will be better. I think that I will eventually end up getting the book, either as part of a deal or second hand as I am willing to invest a little in this series, but not a lot.
