YALC Haul: Where Are They Now?

Last year, I made this post about all the books I bought at YALC 2018. Before I posted my TBR for YALC 2019 I wanted to finish most of the books I bought last year, since I am on a book buying ban this month, I thought now would be the perfect time to start working towards this goal. So here is the current status of the books I bought at YALC last year.

Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1)

I bought this book in anticipation of my Shadowhunter September series. However after reading the first nine books and my interest in this series was beginning to decline. I knew that I was not ever going to read these books, so I donated them to charity.

This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

This Is Where It Ends

I read this book in November last year, you can read the review here.

Vox by Christian Dalcher

Vox

I read this book in August last year, straight after YALC you can read the review here.

New World Trilogy by Jennifer Willson

New World Rising (New World Series, #1)

I read this trilogy in July last year, and loved it. I am thinking about giving it a reread. You can read the review of the first book here.

Jinxed by Amy McCulloch

Jinxed (Book 1)

I read this book in January and really enjoyed it.

Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)

I read this duology in February, and you can read the review here.

To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

To Kill a Kingdom

I haven’t read this book yet, and was thinking of reading it in May/June, as it is haunting me from by bookshelf.

Show Stopper and Show Stealer by Hayley Barker

Show Stopper (Show Stopper #1)

I haven’t read this duology yet, but am planning to do so after I finish my Marissa Meyer read-a-thon.

The Dark Queen by Josephine Boyce

The Dark Queen

I also haven’t read this book yet and probably won’t get to it for a while, but I will be reading it soon.

The Extinction Trials and Exile by S.M. Willson.

The Extinction Trials (The Extinction Trials, #1)

I read this trilogy quite recently, the first review is here.

The Monstrous Child by Francesca Simon

The Monstrous Child

Having bought the physical book for this, I ended up listening to the audiobook for this from my library.

Heartless and Renegades by Marissa Meyer

Heartless

I haven’t read these books yet, but am going to soon as they are the reason I am doing my Marissa Meyer read-a-thon.

The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli

The last namsara

As I am sure that you are all aware by now, Kristen Cicarelli is going to YALC this year to promote the sequel to this book, the Caged Queen. I will be reading this book after my book buying ban is over so that I can read the sequel immediately.

The Twelve Kings by PB Beaulieu

The twelve kings

I haven’t read this book yet either, but was thinking of doing so around the time I read the Dark Queen.

Princesses Behaving Badly by Linda Rodríguez McRobbie

Princesses Behaving Badly

I read this book in November and adored it.

Alex and Eliza by Melissa De La Cruz

Alex and Eliza (Alex & Eliza, #1)

I haven’t read this book yet, and probably won’t for a while as I am going to wait until the last book comes out in paperback and read the trilogy together.

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman

Norse Mythology

I haven’t read this book yet, but think I will do after my Meyer-a-thon.

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.1)

I haven’t read this yet as I had not long finished the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and was not in the mood to delve back into the world. I am thinking of re-reading the series along with ACOFAS in the summer though.

The Plan

My plan is to read all of my unread YALC books before I start on my 2019 TBR with the exception of Alex & Eliza and ACOFAS. I’ll be posting updates so keep an eye out!
